Has food quality always been on decline?

We have seen so many husbands cribbing that the food their wives make is not as good as their moms used to cook. Now lets go one generation above, again the father of husband used to crib same thing about food cooked by the mother of the present generation husband. And so on and so forth, so just a thought how good food would have been say 10 generations before today's ;-)
