I remember when I was in secondary school I used to get very nice marks in school. That was the time when losing even 1 mark was unacceptable to me. I used to always feel pressured to get first rank in class. That was the time I thought how lucky I would have been had I been just an average student getting may be 15 or 16 rank in class, then it would hardly matter if I lose a few more marks.
As we say God listens to everybody's prayers, sometime sooner, sometime later. So my time came, I went to Kota. There came a reality check for me. I was studying with best minds of the country, that also in English medium which made things more difficult for me. Anyways I came from top of the class to bottom. That was the time I just wanted to again be an average student at least if not in the top. So I wanted the same thing "being an average student" though for a very different reason this time.
Then I went to college, again I was an average student in Computer Science. I did good in few things, I was good at few things but that was the time I learned to be satisfied with what I got. All I cared about was that I have to learn what I want to learn and I need to pass the courses and get the degree. Trust me I have been way happier with being satisfied with what I have got than keep on chasing excellence in everything.
Again, I see some people around me expecting everything perfect in life, working hard to achieve it, feeling bad when things don't work out exactly the way they wanted. I wish those people understand the importance of being satisfied and more importantly are able to implement it in their own lives.
