I recently watched this movie "The Vow". That has inspired me to write this post.
Life's all about moments of impact and how they changes our lives forever. There are some moments you never forget, you wish to live them over and over and over. There are others which you cherish and want to remember then always. There can be others which you just want to forget as if they never happened.
Ayn Rand says contractions don't exist. If you see your are having a contradiction check your premises, you will find one of them is wrong. Is she right? She is smart enough to ask us to check our premises, if we try to prove existence of a contradiction she can always come back and say that we missed a certain premise. How many moments come up in our life when we face contradictory behavior from people. We end up hurting the very people we for the most, we end up doing exactly something which we don't want to do. We do something very nice which we wanted and still feel bad wondering why we did that. What drives our behavior in such moments? We are not programmed human beings. We can't choose what we want always. Sometimes I wish we could, life would have been so simpler then.
Moments of impact define who we are. It is those moments which judge our character. In life we make so many promises, how many of them we are able to fulfill? What if we can no longer hold ourselves to the vows we have made?
The vow shows a wonderful situation where a guy and girl promise to each other as below
Later then guy says
Leo: How do you look at the woman you love, and tell yourself that its time to walk away?
Girl who has no fault of her own says.
Pagie: I hope that one day I can love you the way you love me.
I don't know why but this movie touched my heart. With these thoughts in my mind, I can say "May be some day"

Paige: I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness and to have the patience that love demands, to speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they are not and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home.
Leo: I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, now and forever. I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love.
